Reception is available 24 hours and 7 days a week. You may contact us in person on the ground floor at the Welcome desk or send us a WhatsApp message or call on +61 473 858 237. Otherwise, our landline +61 3 8346 5600, and email email@example.com are also open for communication. Additionally, there is a white phone on each floor next to the elevators to be used to contact reception or emergency services only. The following are available at reception for your convenience:

CHECK-OUT: It’s never easy saying goodbye – but there comes a time when we have to do it. And that time is 10am on the day of your departure. Please ensure you check out on time, as we will need time to prepare your room for the next guests. You are welcome to store your luggage at reception after this time. If you’d like to talk to us about extending your stay, or have a question about checking out, simply contact us using any of the mediums mentioned above.

In your room there are a number of features for your comfort and convenience:
Air-conditioning & heating - Your room has it’s own individually controlled air conditioning unit to allow you to regulate the room temperature using the keypad control on the wall. It is located next to the key slot with blue and red icons representing cold and hot respectively and plus and minus buttons.
Coffee & Tea Facilities - There is an electric kettle in your room along with tea and coffee condiments for your convenience. Please contact reception if you require replenishments.
Do Not Disturb - On the same keypad on the wall next to the door where you manage your airconditioning, you can select the DND option should you wish to communicate to us that you do not wish to be disturbed.
In-Room Safe - There is an in-room safe located in your room. Please use the safe to place any valuables.
Instructions: With the safe door open, select a 4-6 digit code, followed by #, then place your items in the safe, and close the door. To lock the safe, close the door shut, the door will lock automatically. To unlock the safe, enter your code, followed by # - the door will unlock.
Lights and Electronics - For use of the electrical appliances and lighting, please place your key in the blue lit slot on the wall next to the door.
Non-Smoking - Essence Hotel Carlton is a non-smoking property as we are trying to promote a pleasant environment for ALL our guests. We ask you to please refrain from smoking in the hotel room and common areas within the Property. A designated smoking area is located outside the reception area. Failure to comply with this request may result in a cleaning fee of $500.00.

OUR COVID SAFE COMMITMENT
At Essence Hotel Carlton, we want to give every guest that stays with us the peace of mind to know their health and wellbeing is our very top priority, we take standards for hygiene very seriously and are taking additional steps to ensure the safety of our team members and guests. In collaboration with the Australian Department of Health, Victorian State Government Health Directives and Accommodation Industry Guidelines, our processes are continually evolving to ensure the utmost safety for our guests and our team.
All Essence team members, have undertaken additional training in cleaning and infection control to learn best practices for maintaining a safe and healthy hotel environment; all team members wear PPE according to their roles.
On top of our regular rigorous cleaning processes, additional disinfecting protocols have been implemented in our guest rooms, after a guest departs and before the next arrives, with particular attention paid to hard and high touch surfaces and reduction of furnishings.
Our room attendants use specially formulated products from Diversey focussing on all bathroom surfaces, including tiles, taps, toilets and vanity, moving onto guest room surfaces, including bedside tables, desks, chairs, lamps, switches, remotes and door handles. Linen is processed by a commercial laundry to ensure sanitary standards are exceeded.
Guest rooms are rested for 24 hours prior to the next check-in, subject to availability.
Fresh air is readily accessible throughout Essence Hotel Carlton - all of our rooms have opening windows, guest floors are supplied with a one way fresh air flow system, our hotel lobby has opening windows allowing us to maintain a fresh supply of air from outdoors. Air Conditioning throughout the building does not consist of any shared / recycled air.
We have reconfigured common spaces, rearranged and removed furniture, and installed signage to assist with social distancing. Hand sanitiser stations have been set up throughout the hotel including the Reception desk and lift lobbies. High touch surfaces are regularly disinfected, including the Reception desk, lift buttons, door handles and room keys.
Wherever possible, as much information as possible is being collected before check-in, to reduce your time at the desk, during check-in health declarations are standard. We require full contact details to assist with any contact tracing (should it be required).
A clear partition has been installed at the Reception desk for added protection during check-in and check-out. We have also set up fast check-out with a contactless key drop.
BEHIND THE SCENES
Density limits are in place for all staff areas to maintain social distancing in our back of house. Our team are frequently sanitising high touch surfaces throughout the day, such as desks, keyboards, phones, EFTPOS machines and keys. Sanitiser stations are set up in all areas throughout the hotel. Back of house areas are benefiting from the increased frequency of cleaning and disinfecting, with particular focus on high touch areas, including entrances, lockers, storage rooms and offices.
All team members have attended, completed and been certified by the Australian Department of Health in Infection Control Training for COVID-19. Essence Hotel Carlton did not participate in any quarantine or return traveller programs.
OUR CANCELLATION POLICY
In response to changing conditions, Essence Hotel Carlton is committed to ensuring our guest experience flexibility during these challenging times.
We appreciate your business, especially if booked directly with us as this provides the greatest flexibility for you; guests who booked via online travel agents or other third-party travel agencies are advised to contact their booking provider for information on their policies and any changes to reservations or travel.

FEATURES OF THE PROPERTY:
Co-Living Kitchen - Mensa is our creative cooking and dining facility located on the ground floor to the immediate right of the elevators. For more information about this space, please see us at reception.
Courtyard & BBQ - Our beautiful outdoor courtyard features BBQ facilities with ample tables and benches, so you could cook up a nice dinner with a good beer!
Drinking Water - A filtered water tap is available in the game and lounge area located on the ground floor to the right of reception and opposite the courtyard. Otherwise, sparkling or still bottled water are available for sale at reception.
Gaming & Lounge Area - Featuring a pool table and a 65" LED Smart TV, the indoor gaming lounge is situated right next to the courtyard, you will be able to enjoy a good game with your mates or spend a relaxed afternoon in one of the lounge chairs.
Gym - The gym is available for use 24 hours, daily. This is located north of the lobby, adjacent to the meeting pods on the ground floor. Drinking water available in the gym.
Housekeeping - Our housekeeping staff will service your hotel daily with linen changed on major weekly service except for Sundays and Public Holidays or when your DO NOT DISTURB sign is displayed. If your stay is longer than 7 days, our housekeeping staff will complete a weekly service including a linen change except for Sundays and Public Holidays, or when your DO NOT DISTURB sign is displayed.
Internet - Wi-Fi is available free of charge to all guests in-house. To connect please follow the following instructions: Connect to ‘Essence WiFi – Guest’ in wifi settings and open up a browser (https://portal.reivernet.com). Please select ‘Visitors’ as your connection preference and enter your surname as the access code.
Laundry - A launderette is available on the ground floor to the right of the elevators, next to the lounge and games area on the ground floor. This facility is open 24 hours and available to all guests. To wash, you will require 4 $1 coins per wash load and $1 per 20 minutes in the dryer. Washing powder can be purchased from reception.
Meeting Pods - On the ground floor, just across from the reception are a number of meeting pods for reviewing of documents, working away from your room or a quick catch up with in-house or external guests.
Parking - Secure undercover parking is available on-site for $29 per night per car. The height of vehicles is restricted to 2.1 metres. Guests should park in bays with the red and white columns only and not in the reserved spaces. If you wish to park a car during your stay, please contact reception for further details. Please note, parking in a reserved space, and failure to contact you, could result in your car being towed.

Emergency - In case of an emergency please contact reception by using the guest phones located next to the lifts on every floor, or direct to triple zero by dialling 000 using your mobile phone.
Emergency Assistance - In the case of an emergency evacuation, a siren will sound. Please DO NOT use lifts. Emergency evacuation floor plans can be found at the back of your hotel door. For urgent assistance please contact the Duty Manager at +61 473 858 237.
Fire Alarm - If you accidently set off the fire alarm e.g., steam from shower, please open the room window and NOT the room door. If smoke escapes into the hallways and common areas, the fire brigade will automatically be called and the guest will be responsible for payment of the call out fee.
Fire Safety - Essence Hotel Carlton is equipped with modern fire prevention and firefighting systems. Regular fire drills are held with our staff. We recommend that you familiarise yourself with the evacuation notice on the back of your room door and locate your nearest fire exit. There are two fire exits on each floor. In case of a fire DO NOT use the lift.
Security - Your key card must be carried with you at all times including going to the car park. You will require your key card to access the main entry door to the property after hours as the entrance door will be closed. For your security, Essence Hotel Carlton has a 24-hour on-site reception.
